英文摘要 | This paper introduced producing LWC offset printing paper. All production stages are incorporated on a continuous on-line basis for the first time. Several latest papermaking, coating and calendering technologies that could be successfully combined in the new production line were elucidated. This On-line concept for LWC production offers substantial advantages over conventional LWC lines with regard to both investment input and operating costs. However, the integrated processing benefit leads no doubt to a demanding requirement of every operation: no buffers or correction is allowable. With the incorporation of various designs, a coating layer of high quality can thus he expected, should each component of the coating color is adequately selected. The optical, mechanical properties and printability of a coated paper are primarily determined by the fine structure of the coating layer. Coating porosity has been shown to be an important parameeter, greatly influencing the light-scattering properties of the coating layer. A scanning election microscope was used to examine the coating layers prepared from three different kinds of pigment. Due to the morphological variation of the pigments, great difference was observed in the packing density of each coated layer. |
