中文摘要 | 「聖嬰」為赤道太平洋上所發生的海洋自然現象。由於海洋所蘊含的能量非常大,因此嘆僅數度的海溫變化,但對於大氣環流卻有顯著的影響。聖嬰現象每隔數年(2~7年不定)即會發生一次,持續時間又長達一年之久,對於全球短期氣候變化有顯著衝擊,因此「聖嬰」便成為目前大氣與海洋科學家們極欲瞭解、同時積極研究的對象。 今年適值本世紀最強的「超級聖嬰」重返地球,在全球各地皆感受到它的威力,旱澇天災不斷發生的同時,吾人希望藉此機會,說明聖嬰現象發生時大氣和海洋變化的情形,以及對全球所造成的衝擊。另外,我們也將介紹1997/98「超級聖嬰」現象的現況,讓讀者們瞭解目前聖嬰現象的發展情形以及對台灣得期氣候的影響。 |
英文摘要 | EI Nino is the natural phenomena occurred in the equatorial tropical Pacific ocean. Since the ocean is able to contain large amount of solar energy due to its volume and large heat capacity, even only with a few degrees change of the sea surface temperature, it can have great influence on the global atmospheric circulation. The EI Nion occurs every other few years (2~7years). Since it can last for as long as a year, its impact on the short term climate change is huge. Thus, EI Nino study becomes the major research topics for atmospheric and oceanic scientists. It happens that our earth is now experiencing the Super EI Nino event and the global climate is shaking under its powerful pumping. Drought and flood are found all over the world. In this paper, we introduce the atmospheric and oceanic variability under EI Nino condition. Also, the most updated situation of 1997/98 super EI Nino event is presented for reference, along with its impact on regional climate around Taiwan. |
