中文摘要 | 人性論辯是先秦哲學中出現的非常重要事件。對於告子、孟子和荀子三人而言, 不論是「性可善可惡論」、「性善論」或「性惡論」,其對當時思想界的衝擊非常大, 而且對於後代思想史的影響更是不可磨滅。可是對於討論這些思想課題,在方法上, 以及在所謂的詮釋上,可以說都未能如實地反映這些論辯的實際面貌,換言之,未 能如實地透過他們的論辯結構,以及語言記號意義,將他們真正的思想揭示出來。 我們以傳統「生之謂性」為核心線索來分析告子、孟子和荀子的人性論證,而 採用亞里斯多德在<<修辭學>>和<<論題篇>>中的某些成果只用於論證的形式分析上, 而實際上對此三人的人性論分析,則根據文本的內容和文字本身。本文即試圖集中 焦點在三人作為論證前提的歧異上,指出他們的論證是以一種論辯(修辭)的性質 來論述他們的人性論證的內涵。可是,誠如我們前面已經論及,這種表面上是`推 理'或'推論' 的樣式,實際上卻是 '偽推理'、'偽推論'的'意見',而非'知 識'。 |
英文摘要 | It was a very important event that the argumentations of Human Nature(人性)were widely and deeply discussed by the philosophers in Pre-Chin(先秦).However, the demonstrations of "either San or Er"(可善 可惡)by Gauzi, o 'San"(善)by Mencius, and of "Er"(惡)by Xunzi in Human Nature bave prefoundly and continually influenced the thinking modes of philosophical and ethical history. The interpreters could not explain nor clarify the authentic reference or sense of human nature in question, because they have never criticized the instruments and media which they held firmly as a proper method, and never analyzed the expressions and terms which they used to get the so-called true"meaning". This paper tries to wholly decide the argumentation of human nature between Bauzi and Mencius, Xunzi and Mencius. We use the logical works of Aristotle to analyze the form of argument in order to explain the nonlogical inference of their argumentations. We also anslyze the terms "seng"(生),"xing"(性),"cai"(才), and "duan"(端、耑)which play the logical premises to conclude that their "arguments" are not so much "episteme" (知識) as "doxa"(意見). |
