中文摘要 | 本研究之主要目的在運用洛吉斯蒂克迴歸分析(logistics regression analysis )來探討初生嬰兒的外觀尺寸與體重過輕是否相關, 以找出可以取代精密磅秤的 一種簡易觀察方式,來判別初生嬰兒的體重是否過輕。而此種觀察方式便可在醫療資源較為 落後的地區使用,如臺灣偏遠山區。 本研究的另一目的在比較兩種洛吉斯蒂克迴歸的估算方式(estimation methods)及兩種模 式篩選方法( model selections ),希望能夠找出較準確的估算方式與模式篩選方法,以 提供研究者在從事相關領域之研究時,選擇恰當的統計方法之準則。 研究中發現初生嬰兒的上臂臂圍和胸圍尺寸與其體重過輕有統計上的顯著相關;換言之,觀 察初生嬰兒的上臂臂圍和胸圍尺寸大小,即能斷定初生嬰兒體重是否過輕。另一方面,近似 估算法( asymptotic method )與精確估算法( exact method )的優劣; 以及如何選擇 合適之模式篩選方法的準則在本研究結論亦有說明。 |
英文摘要 | The objective of this study is to find the relationships between low birth weight and several anthropometric measures. By discovering the relationship between them, efficient and accurate surrogates for birth weight measuring can be established. Instead of the weighting scales, the surrogates, then, can be easily used for measuring the newborns in many places where the medical resource is deficient such as the suburban or mountain area in Taiwan. Moreover, in the study, two logistics estimation methods (asymptotic and exact methods) and two model selection procedures (logistics model fitting and sensitivity and specificity analysis) are compared to provide future researchers a greater pool of comparative literature to help them choose the optimal statistics method to suit their purposes. The results of this study show that measurements of mid-arm circumference and chest circumference in the all analyzed anthropometric measurements have the adept and reliable capability of predicting low birth weight. The two measurements can be, therefore, used as possible surrogates for birth weight measuring. The substantive guidelines for selecting logistics regression estimations and models in related fields are also provided in the last section. |
