英文摘要 | Through an interview with two students in Mingchi Institute of Technology, the author made an assumption --- the most significant reason why the students in Mingchi Institute of Technology saw vocabulary as a burden was that they did not play the roles as learners appropriately. Four principle causes of their problems in vocabulary learning were found: (i) lack of positive motivation, (ii) not realizing their own needs, (iii) lack of suitable learning strategies, and (iv) not being able to be independent of instruction. Some appropriate aspects served to improve the situation were then suggested. Finally, the criteria of learner training activities were also provided for references of teachers interested in designing a learner training program. |
