英文摘要 | The study in metal-containing liquid crystals (MCLC), a relatively new area in the field of liquid crystal, has been rapidly progressive since the past decade. In which coordination metal complexes constitute a large group of such metallomesogenic materials because of their rich well-known and versatile chemistry. This type of metallomesgenic structure was generated by incorporation of single or multiple metal centers into traditional organic molecules. This synthetic strategy has been widely used to design such metallomesgenic materials with a variety of geometrical structures and molecular shapes. The rich electronic and magnetic properties originated from metal centers offered such materials an opportunity to be potential candidates for the molecule-based applications. In this article we will describe the general concept and approach used in the design and synthesis of these metallomesogenic materials. |
