英文摘要 | As liberalization of market economy and privatization of the government-own companies became the centerpiece of government policy toward the internationalization, The Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced the opening of electrical power market in order to promote competition and operating performance. In response to the trend toward liberalization and privatization of electricity industry, Taipower certainly will seek opportunities to participate in other business sectors besides the well-established power business. For example, Taipower already had a lot of telecommunication-related resources, facilities and human resources; therefore there should be a great advantage for Taipower to participate in the telecommunication business. In foreign countries, many power companies have constructed the telecommunication network through their own power line network and do the business successfully. At this time of telecommunication liberalization, Taipower should consider the feasibility to invest in the telecommunication business. The major goal of the project is to analyse the opportunity for Taipower to invest in the telecommunication business, and to propose appropriate recommendation to Taipower to operate the telecommunication business. |
