中文摘要 | 東、西方音樂,各具文化特性(Individualities)與共性(Universalities)。本 文嘗試以中世紀阿拉伯音樂的研究,探討其理論形成之歷史淵源和文化背景,以闡明阿拉伯 音槳在文化音樂學及民族音樂學上的重要性。序論交待研究方法和目的,初論音樂史和音樂 學應擺脫「歐洲中心主義」傳統、開拓民族、文化本位之民族音槳學的必要及其理據。本文 擇要敘述中世紀阿拉伯音樂及其理論的發展 (第一、二章 ),及阿拉伯音樂產生的文化背景 及其內涵 (第三章 ),重點在舉例說明阿拉伯音樂與其他文化學科,如哲學、宗教、文化與 文學修養、詩歌和宇宙觀。倫理觀等等之互動關係,側重本土文化及外來文化因素對阿拉伯 音樂理論和實踐的影響之探討。本文結論,第一,音樂既然是文化、藝術學科之一,則既無 單純的民族文化,也就沒有完全孤立、純粹的民族音樂。阿拉伯音樂在中世紀的發展,即是 歷史上不同民族文化交流與互動最好的例證;第二,音樂不能獨立於其他文化學科之外。不 論演奏家或理論家,應將音樂當作文化修養的一剖分來看待,重視音樂的歷史背景、文化內 涵、教育功能和其在社會互動上所扮演的角色。最後藉本文,作者想表達寫作本文的一點心 得及對國內音樂教育和音樂學研究導迥的一個深切的期盼,那就是:重視本國音樂文化和藝 術的傳承,透過音樂而掌握所有藝術的本質;同時在音樂教育方面,修正偏重知識和技巧傳 授的偏差,導向做為文化修養和人格教育之一環的「樂教」。 |
英文摘要 | The studies of Eastern and Western musicology, in our opinion, are essential to find out their fundamental differences.. Aiming at this, we will take the study of ara-bic music in the Middle Ages as an example with special concern of its historical ori-gin and cultural backgrounds and also of the processes of the founding and developments of its musical theories. Furthermore, the importance of arabic musicol-ogy in world musicological researches, in the sense of ethno-cultural and comparative musicological studies, can be better revealed and perceived. First of all, the scholarship in the world has to free itself from the tradition of "Eurocentrism" and instead be aware of the necessity of a ehtno-cultural orientated method of the study of arabic music. We will briefly view the Persian and Greek influences on the arabic history of music and theories of musicology, followed by some brief accounts about the mutual cultural relationships and interactions between the scholarship of arabic musicology and other scholarly disciplines such as philosophy, religious thoughts, poetry, ethics, aesthetics, civility education (adab) and metaphysics in the Middle Ages, among the arabic ruled areas from East to West. On reflecting on the model of arabic scholarship of musicolgy, we ernestly expect a reconsidering of new orientations in the didactic and research works of music and musicology in Taiwan, with the widest sense of so defined ethno-cultural musicol-ogy. |
