英文摘要 | A new P/M process, namely, "Loose-sintering→CIP→Full Sintering" has been established. Fine iron powder was loose-sintered at 650 ℃, removed from the mold and then fully sintered at 1300 ℃ for one hour. The resulting green and sintered densities were 60% and 95%, respectively. This process has the capability of producing uniform and high density parts with complicated shapes, yet it eliminates the time=consuming processing steps of PIM. If a high sintered density cannot be obtained due to the low loose-sintered density, this process offers a choice of CIP to increase the loose-sintered density. Coarse iron powder did not sinter well in hydrogen even up to a temperature of 900 ℃, but could be sintered in air at as low a temperature as 500 ℃. Fine and coarse iron powder mixtures were also used as the raw material and the corresponding results are reported. |
