英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of solidification in the presence of wall, conduction and radiation heat transfer. An implicit finite difference method is employed to solve the various sets of governing equations describing the unsteady behavior of the system. Numerical predictions of the occurrence of these transitions and the rates of solidification are obtained as functions of several dimensionless parameters of the system. comparison is made between the present result and those in the case with neglecting radiation or the effects of wall. It is found that with the consideration of radiation, the temperature profiles become smooth in the semitransparent material and the wall temperature is strongly depend on convection. The existence of an opaque wall not only increases the solidification velocity but also decreases the temperature distribution, therefore, wall effects are not negligible. |
