英文摘要 | Due to their function, unlike the car, the shape of container trucks is cuboid, sharp-edged body predominate. It has strong interaction between cab and container. This causes much drag and fuel consumption. This paper uses the control volume numerical method with SIMPLEST algorithm and the body-fitted coordinate system to investigate the aerodynamic drag reductions of the container trucks with various air-deflector. It has strong interaction between cab and container. This causes much drag and fuel consumption. The air-deflector mounted on the cab shields the high container behind it, so that the wake envelops the front face of the container and the container may have zero or even negative partial drag and gives a great reduction in the drag of the truck. The results show that the quadratic air-deflector could reduce 36% drag and the flat air-deflector could reduce 33% drag. When the gap between cab and container is sealed, the quadratic air-deflector could reduce 62% drag and the flat air-deflector could reduce 61% drag. Thus, considering the manufacturing cost, the flat air-deflector is a better choice. |
