英文摘要 | The instability developing in the presence of ver-tical density gradient due to a point source of heat and density at various depths and horizontal Couette flow is considered near the onset of convection for a small rate of shear. Growth competition and weakly nonlinear stability analysis between the longitudinal rolls (LR) and the transverse rolls (TR) whose axes are respectively in the direction parallel to and per-pendicular to the Couette flow are investigated in this paper. The results show that the TR mode is charcterized by the region (Rc)tr < R < (R)ts and the LR mode dominates the system. |
