中文摘要 | 本論文之目的,不是討論美國英語稱呼而是探討中文及美國英語中稱呼異同之處,俾增加學習美國英文稱呼效果。在此論文中,我所研究的是美國人稱呼與中國人稱呼之比較。為此,我先分析有關文獻,及各家重要論點並將稱呼分為職業稱呼和非職業稱呼兩大類,發現場合與說話人的角色非常重要。美國和中國人稱呼有很多不同之處,但也有相似之點我提出一些有效教授稱呼的辦法,並建議要密切注意美國人稱呼是隨著時間而演化的。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this paper is not to talk about American-English addresses but to compare the differences in addresses in the two languages, in this case, American English and Chinese, so as to enhance efficiency in learning English addresses. In this paper, I shall first make an overview of the literature concerning English addresses to clarify the ideas of addresses and summons, and explore the categories of addresses by occupational and non-occupational title. I have found that the occasion and the role of the speaker and the addressee are very important. There are many differences of address in American English and Chinese, but there are also some similarities. I propose some approaches for effectively teaching addresses in different cultures and suggest that we should take note of the evolution of American addresses which have changed with time. |
