英文摘要 | A planar contact device is used to measure the static and kinetic frictions of a sliding pair. Effects of surface roughness and lubricant viscosity on both friction coefficients are examined. It is found that, due to adhesion effect, the highly polished and dry contact surface experience high static and kinetic fricitonal forces. The friction force reduces significantly when lubricant is presented between the contact surfaces. The plowing action dominates the friction mechanism in the rough contact surfaces. Stick-slip motion is prevented effectively when machine-way lubricant is used. |
