英文摘要 | The characteristics of biodegradation of ABS-resin manufacturing wastewater using acclimated aerobiic sludge was evaluated by electrolytic respirometry. High COD concentrations inhibited the aerobic sludge with 20 hours delay of respirometric reaction at an initial substrate/biomass ratio (So/X ratio) of 0.8 g COD/g VSS. When the So/S ratio increased to 1.2 g COD/g VSS, microbial inhibition decreased significantly. Moreover, the specific substrate utilization rate as an index of degradation rate in the batch test was found to be inappropriate, since microbial adsorption caused a large decrease in COD. Results of water quality analysis showed that organic compound degradation was faster than ammonium oxidation while nitrifying bacteria was significantly inhibited by high concentrations of wastewater. Both organic carbon (above 200 mg/L as COD) and organic nitrogen (above 20 mg/L as N) of the ABS-resin wastewater inhibited aerobic nitrification. |
