中文摘要 | 古代社會中,女子文墨之才鮮為人所重,從先秦兩漢時期確立「三從四德」的婦 德規範後,「女子無才便是德」儼然為時人所崇。其間雖有魏晉六朝一度重視閨才之風,然 「女子不宜詩文」的禮教束縛已然深植人心,便縱有識見之士力褒閨秀文墨之才,卻引來激 辯的聲浪。王雪香身處才德之辯最盛的清代,在論評紅樓十二釵時,雖亦標舉「才」、「德 」二字,然其「才」者,乃理家治事之才幹,而非傳統與「德」對立的「文墨之才」;而其 「德」亦非唯「安常處順,清靜守貞」而已。由是觀之,除元春外,唯行事圓融老練、為人 大方端莊的寶釵贏得才德兼備的美譽,而空有文采卻器小任性的黛玉便不討喜。其餘諸人, 亦或多或少接受雪香的褒貶。透過雪香的經學,便可窺知其迥異於時人的女子才德觀。 |
英文摘要 | In ancient society, women's literate ability was rarely noticed. Ever since the moral rules of "Three obeys and the four educational fundamentals" for women had been set up during the Chin and Han dynasty, the idea that an illiterate woman is a morally good woman was praised by the society. Although there were times that a few people did support women's literature, it only invited more argument for the moral idea had been firmly rooted. Hsuehhsiang Wang was born in Chin dynasty--the time that the argu-ment of intellect/illiteracy of women was at its peak. Although the word "intellectual" was mentioned in his critique, it meant the ability to run a home not the lit- erate capability. To the morality, he also emphasized on the "Women's Four Educational Fundamentals" instead of the common morality. Therefore, Paochai was the only one winning the praise of an "intellectual/literate woman. on the contrarily, Taiyu, who actually possessed intel-lect and literacy, was disgusted. The other characters mentioned in the book were criticized by him. His view point of intellect and morality is totally different from the one we have now. |
