英文摘要 | Technological changes thus far have created many new jobs and raised everybody's standards of living. This is because in the past new technology replaced physical work and created mental work for human being. However the current wave of new technological change is different from the past, because this time they replace not only manual work but also mental work. Many argue that by 21st century the world will enter an era of workless society. Hence they call for the governments to develop a third sector, aside from private and public sector, a private non-profit sector, so that people can continue to have jobs, although many of these jobs are voluntary jobs. Will Taiwan moves into a workless society sometime in the 21st century? Our answer is no. Because the new technology replaces mental jobs and jobs require simple judgement or memorization, they create new jobs that require creativity at the same time. Therefore, to prepare people for jobs in the 21st century educational system in Taiwan must change. It must provide students with ability to learn, to think, to be innovative, and creative. |
