英文摘要 | Among 1159 osmotolerant microorganisms screened from natural samples, a yesat-like microorganism, named HD22, was proved to excrete erythritol when cultured in 20% glucose-containing YM broth. Although only 0.3% (w/v) erythritol was produced when cultured at 34 ℃ for 4 days, this polyol seemed the mainly detectable fermented product. However, if sucrose was used as a main carbon source, arabitol would appear in the broth and become an obvious byproduct. A series of fermentation media had also been studied. We found that when malt extract and peptone were replaced by ammonium sulfate, the final concentration of erythritol was increased. As the respect of salt influences, calcium salts like calcium carbonate and calcium chloride could elevate erythritol excretion. The addition of little amount of soybean protein hydrolysate (SPH) to the medium was also helpful. By a serious modification, the erythritol concentration and yield on consumed sugar obviously increased from 0.3% (w/v) to 3% (w/v) and 9% to 30%, respectively. |
