英文摘要 | A normal intracellular ion concentration is crucial for proper cell function. The concentration gradient of major current carrying ions across the cell membrane determines the resting potential, receptor potential and action potential. So studies of intracellular ionic concentrations and fluxes are among the most important topics in modern physiology. In hair cells, intracellular ion concentrations also determine the transduction process and neurotransmitter release. The most popular way to study intracellular ion concentration is by using the fluorescent ion indicators, most often calcium indicators and sodium indicators, have been applied in the studies of hair cell transduction, motility and ion transport and has provided a lot of important information for us to understand the cellular mechanisms of hearing. |
