英文摘要 | When a lossless homogeneous dielectric slab is transversely loaden in a metallic waveguide, the corresponding theoretical reflection and transmission coef ficients can be derived by using the wave transmission matrix method. These theoretical coefficients together with the actual values can be used to define appropriate error functions. By using the adaptive iterative procedure proposed in this paper, the error functions can be solved to simultaneously determine the correct dielectric permittivity and thickness from some initial guesses. As shown from mumerical simulations, it is found that the allowable error in the initial permittivity guess can be as great as 400%, and still yields accurate results. This approach is basically an iterative numerical method that uses both the magnitude and phase information. It can be utilized for dielectric slab characterization at frequency of interest. |
