中文摘要 | 自古以來,人類與動物就有密切關係。人類的性格在某方面與動物的性格相似是自然的事。為了增強談話的效果,人們利用動物的性格去描述人的性格。 我們在英語與中國文獻上,發現人們習慣地運用隱喻將動物與人的個性聯繫在一起。如果我們能適當地作不同文化的比較,則對於增加學習興趣,增強其對此種隱喻的記憶,是有幫助的。 在本文中,我們發現人類的性格在某些方面類似於動物的性格,而且也發現利用有關動物的隱喻可加強表達人們的情感,諸如憤怒、憎恨等等。為了提高學生的興趣並增強其記憶,我們作下列的建議: (1)學生要完全瞭解特定動物的性格。 (2)教導學生知道動物的特性以及它們是如何同人類的性格聯繫起來的。 (3)將英語和中文�堛瑭臛諤@比較。 (4)注意應用與動物有關的隱喻於人類行為之技巧與時機。 |
英文摘要 | Since ancient times, human beings have had a close relationship with animals, and it is natural that human beings' characters are familiar with the characters of animals. In order to enhance the effectiveness of speech, people use animals' characters to describe people's personalities. It can be found in both English literature and Chinese literature that people customarily employ metaphors to relate animals and their supposed nature. It may be helpful in increasing the interest of learners and increasing their memory of these metaphors if we can appropriately compare them one with another cross-culturally. In this paper, we find that human personalities are similar to some animals' characteristics, and that people make use of the metaphors related to animals so as to effectively express their feelings, like anger, hate, and so on. In order to increase the interest of students and enhance their memory, we suggest that: (1) students fully understand the characteristics of specific animals; (2) teach students to know the animals' characteristics and how they are related to human personalities--an effective way is to show a model of specific animals to students and discuss all the metpahors related to the specific animals; (3) make comparison of what the English metaphors related to animals are to the Chinese metaphors related to animals; and (4) Pay more attention to the skill and timing of applying metaphors related to animals to human behavior. |
