英文摘要 | In the period of the War of Resistance against' Japan, after the fall of Shanghai and Nanking, the puppet Nanking government was in power, but didn't intervene in the management of the posts. The Directorate General of Posts whose headquarters had already moved to Kumming established an office in Shanghai Concessions to handle the posts for the occupied areas. Postage rates for these areas were the same as those enforced in other areas. After the Pearl Harbor, the Japanese invade French Concessions and International Settlement in Shanghai. The following summer Japan closed the office in Shanghai. Afterwards, the management of post offices in the occupied areas of Central and South China was separated from the Headquarters. Different postal rates were thus applied. The article is based on the file available with used covers to summarize the postage rate changes during this period. |
