中文摘要 | 都市地租源於區位間交通費用差額之理論為眾所週知。但總地租與總交通費用間關係鮮有人研究。例外為Mohning及Arnott與Stiglitz之分析。本文延伸其意而將都市地租、交通費用與都市所得聯接,以作進一步地租論與總體經濟學接合之契機。Arnott與Stiglitz藉最適規模人口而企圖證明亨利喬治單一稅主張為一可通用之理論。此理論若經追究則將無最適公共支出都市之存在。本文利用其部份分析成果但另立模式。推導結果可藉以驗證地租作為單一稅是否充足。此外對決定都市結構之基本因素也有所分析。 |
英文摘要 | That urban differential rent originates from differential transport ocst is well received. But the relationship between aggregate differential rent and aggregate transport cost has escaped attention, with the remarkable exception of Mohningand Arnott & Stiglitz. This research extends their result by incorporating urban income into analysis in order to establish a linkage between rent theoren and macroeconomics. Arnott & Stiglitz use the optimum urban size approach to prove a "Henry George Theorem". This research points out the Theorem is of analytical nature without possibility of flasification. Further extrusion of A/S model would lead to non-existence of a city theat has optimum public expenditure. An alternative model is proposed. The model and its result presented here provide a clear test on the sufficiency of single tax as George claimed. It also provides us with insights into the basic parameters of the urban structure. |
