中文摘要 | 以畜試所彰化種畜繁殖場自82年10月至84年9月間飼養之杜洛克40頭、監瑞斯20頭、約克夏17頭,共77頭種用公豬,人工採精2822次所測得之精液性狀,與品種、季節年齡、性能指數與精液量、精子濃度、精液pH值、精子活力及總精子數之關係進行探討。 結果發現三品種中,以杜洛克公豬之精液量及總精子數顯著比藍瑞斯、約克夏者為少(P<0.05)。精子濃度則以杜洛克公豬者顯著較約克夏為高(P<0.05);藍瑞斯公豬精液之pH值雖然顯著高於約克夏與杜洛克者(P<0.05),惟仍在正常範圍內;精子活力於三品種間並無顯著差異。在季節性的變化方面,一年中以7、8月份之精液量最低,以後逐漸增加,至12月份達高峰後,又漸漸減少;而精子濃度與總精子數之變化趨勢相似,均以夏季及初秋的月份者較低,而後逐漸上升,並分別於3月及1月份達高峰,之後下降;精液之pH值於各月份間變化較不明顯;精子活力以9月份者最差,而以冬季之數月份者顯著較佳(P<0.05)。兩歲齡以上之公豬比兩歲齡以下者顯著有較高的精液量,但其精子濃度與活力則顯著較低(P<0.05)。在性能指數方面,依指數區分低(指數≦111)、中(指數介於117~112)、高(指數≧118)等三個等級進行比較,結果發現指數較高者有精子濃度變稀、總精子數減少與精子活力變差之趨勢;惟精液量於三個指數等級間,彼此並無顯著差異。 |
英文摘要 | A total of 2,822 ejaculates from 40 Duroc, 20 Landrace, 17 Yorkshire were used for the evalution of their semen volume, pH value, sperm concentration, total sperm number and sperm motility. All these data were collected from the Change-hua Breeding Station of TLRI during the period between October, 1993 and September, 1995. The relationships between characteristics of semen quality and various parameters, including breed, season, age and the relative performance index of boars, were examined. The results indicated that Duroc had the lowest mean value in both the semen volume of each ejaculation and the total sperm number when comparisons were made among the three breeds studied. Duroc had significantly greater value in the sperm concentration than that of the Yorkshire boars (P<0.05). Significantly higher semen pH value was found in Landrace than in Yorkshire and Duroc boars (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in sperm motility when comparisons were made among the three breeds of boars. Moreover, it was found that the lowest semen volume of each ejaculation particularly occurred during the hot season between July and August. Thereafter the ejaculation volume increased steadily to a peak in December, and then declined again. The patten of seasonal effect on the sperm concentration and the total sperm number were similar, which were poor both in summer and early autumn (r=-0.20, P=0.08) and steadily improved to reach the peak value during March and January and then declined again, respectively. However, the seasonal effect on the pH value of boar ejaculations were definitely much less (P>0.05). The worst sperm motility was found in the period of September and it was significantly better during the winter season (P<0.05). The age of boars was an important factor affecting the reproductive performance. It was found that those boars older than 2 years had significantly higher semen volume of each ejaculation, whereas their sperm concentration and motility were getting lower when they were beyond 2 years (P<0.05). Boars with a higher performance index tended to have lower total sperm number and sperm concentration of each ejaculation. However, no significantly difference in the ejaculation volume among groups of boars with either high, medium or low value relative performance index were observed (P>0.05). |
