英文摘要 | The use of autologous bone graft to stimulate skeletal repair has been a standard procedure and effective for many years. Bone graft has several components within itself, including the capacity to provide an osteoconductive scaffolding, as well as its osteoinductive and osteogenic features. Standard procedure of bone graft requires surgical exposure of the donor side as well as the recipient site. A significant number of complications was reported, such as pain, infection, hematoma, nerve or artery injury and cosmetic problem. Minimal invasive surgery was developed for every system in the recent decades. The use of bone marrow osteoprogenitor cells aspirated from the iliac carest and injected into the fracture sites or areas of skeletal defects to stimulate osteogenesis had been reported in the past ten years. From 1996 to 1998, autologous marrow injection was used in 40 patients to stimulate fracture healing. The healing rate was noted to be 80%. No complication was noted. The technique was simple, and low-cost. It was encouraged early prophylactic injection to prevent nonunion also. It may be a substitute of bone graft in some fracture nonunions. |
