中文摘要 | 本文研究之目的為探討氯化十六烷基嘧啶(CPC, cetyl pyridinium chloride)吸附於蒙脫土之行為。由於蒙脫土為黏土之一種(Smectite),而由於其為二層氧化矽夾中間一層氧化鋁之構造,且帶負電荷。利用夾層走廊中之鈉離子與陽離子界面活性劑交換吸附,可將鈉離子完全取代,並藉由吸附後之CPC界面活性劑分子親油端之相互作用增進CPC吸附於蒙脫土之能力,即吸附能力可增強,實驗上之結果數據發現CPC/蒙脫土之吸附行為由溶液中低濃度之CPC下進行離子交換轉換到高濃度CPC雙層分子物理吸附之行為。即CPC/蒙脫土之吸附平衡曲線(Adsorption Isotherm)包括離子交換與經由HI (Hydrophobic Interaction)作用進行分子油性端之互相作用兩種機構。 |
英文摘要 | Clay, with the monmorillonite structure, was employed in this research for the adsorption study of cetylpyridinium chloride in aqueous solution. The adsorption isotherm was measured for the equilibrium concentration of cetylpyridinium chloride below and above is critical micelle concentration. Results showed that the adsorption capacity of cetylpyridinium chloride onto clay went through monolayer and bilayer coverge below critical micelle concentration and exhibited multilayer adsorption behavior above critical micelle concentration. The monolayer adsorption was equivalent to ion exchange mechanism. The bilayer adsorption was enhanced due to the hydrophobic interaction between the fist head-down/tail-up layer and the second tail-down/head-up layer through the tail-tail interaction. Above critical micelle concentration of cetylpyridinium chloride, the adsorption capacity was greater than bilayer and multilayer adsorption was found. Reason for this may be postulated to be related with organized structure of cetylpyridinium chloride in the aqueous solution. |
