中文摘要 | 本研究利用地震斷層面解作臺灣中部地區的大地應力分析,並尋求構造上的解釋 。由中央研究院地球科學研究所的臺灣區遙記式地震網(TTSN)在1982至1990年間記錄的地 震中選取區域內的地震,利用震源位置及TTSN各測站收到的P波初動資料,進行斷層面解逆 推,以求取集合斷層面解。本研究所使用的方法為應用最大似然法(Maximum-likelihood Method)求得集合斷層面解,並將地震依不同的震源機制型態分類。 本研究之結果顯示,壓應力大致在東偏南二十度的方向,和菲律賓海板塊與歐亞大陸板塊的 衝撞直接相關。在張力方面則為東西向至東北-西南方向,這現象可能由菲律賓海板塊向西 北隱沒至歐亞大陸板塊之下,使臺東縱谷具有左移分量,此力拖曳其西側之淺部地殼,因而 產生東北方向之張力。另由於宜蘭盆地可能為沖繩海槽之延伸,具有西北方向的張力,故宜 蘭與花蓮之間二張力的合力即在東西方向上。 |
英文摘要 | In this study, fault plane solution inversion is utilized to analyze and explain the stress direction in central Taiwan. The earthquakes happened in central Taiwan which were recorded by Taiwan Telemetered Seismographic Network (TTSN) during 1982 to 1990 are used. The joint fault plane solution is determined by the fault plane solution which is obtained from the epicenters of the recorded seismic data and P-wave first motion. The method of the study is Maximum-likelihood method and all the events are separated into groups of different focal mechanism to obtain the joint fault plane solution. The result shows that the average direction of compression has an azimuth of 110° and is directly related to the collision between Philippine Sea plate and Eurasian plate. The tension is in the direction from E-W to NE-SW. This phenomenon may be attributed to the subbuction of Philippine Sea plate under the Eurasian plate and makes Taitung Longitudinal Valley become a sinistral strike slip fault. The shallow crust on the left side of Taitung Longitudinal Valley is dragged by the force of subduction which induces the tension in the N-W direction. Additionally, owing to the N-E direction tension of I-Lan plain which may be due to the extension of Okinawa trough, the combined tension on the region between I-Lan and Hwa-Lian is in the E-W direction. |
