英文摘要 | Channcl Catfish fingerlings were stocked in 12 0.04 hectare earthern ponds at the rate of 7,500 per hectare and fed for a 184-day feeding period on one of four two-phase feeding regimes. The feeding regimes consisted of feeding the fish from stocking to 227g size at one dietary protein level (30-36%) and from 227g to 454g size at another protein level (25-36%). The diet allowances. The results showed that fish fed the 30 or 36% protein diets gained at the same rate to 227g size, but from 227g to 454g size the fish fed the 36% protein diet gained more weight and showed a greater return above feed costs than those fed the 25 or 30% protein diets. The data indicate that when fish are fed generously, 30% good quality protein in energy adequate rations is sufficient for channel catfish; however, when feeding is restricted during the later phase of the growing period, a 36% protein diet is more productive. The four different feeding regimes didn't affect dressing percentage or body composition (moisture, fat and protein) of the fish. Three different stocking regimes within each treatment (all 15.2cm size, one half 12.7cm and one half 17.8cm, and one third 12.7cm, one third 15.2cm, and one third 17.8cm) were used to evaluate the influence of variation in stocking size on variation in harvest sizes of pond-raised channel catfish. Stocking fingerlings of the same com-group produced the most uniform size fish when harvested at 454g size. |
