英文摘要 | This paper presents four interrelated aspects that need to be considered when a patient classification system (PCS) is to be designed. These four aspects include (a) methods of indicator measurement; (b) organizations of patient classification instruments; (c) levels of patient classification, and (d) characteristics of hospital units. The structural characteristics and values among various classification designs are described and analyzed in light of these four aspects. Nurse administrators must be familiar with these aspects and know the advantages and disadvantages of each prior to develop, modify, or implement a PCS in their hospitals. |
