英文摘要 | This study prepared monovalent and bivalent oil-emulsion vaccines from Taiwan type` and a virulent strains of nephropathogenic infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), and compared their protection efficacy with that of Massachusetts strains. One-day-old SPF chickens were intraocularly vaccinated with the live IB vaccine (strain H120), and the vaccination was boosted with oil-emulsion vaccines (Taiwan type`, type a or both, or Massachusetts-type strains) when chickens were 10-day-old. Two weeks after the boost vaccination, the chickens were challenged with a virulent strain of Taiwan type` or type a viruses for comparison of their protective efficacy based on the mortality, trachea lesion score, kidney lesion score, virus isolation rate and body weight gained. The result showed that the efficacy of protection of oil-emulsion vaccines prepared from Taiwan type` and type a viruses were better than those of Massachusetts-type strains. In particular, the bivalent (type` plus type a) vaccine gave the best result of protection, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). These results reveal the great potential of the application of Taiwan type` and a oil-emulsion vaccines of IB in the field. |
