英文摘要 | Using- data from the 1978 and 1992 Taiwan Manpower Surveys, weestimate a revised model of Dickens and Lang (1985). Our resultsare very closely in line with the predictions of dual labor markettheory that there exists two distinct labor markets in Taiwan, withthe returns to education and experience being significantly higherin the primary market than in the secondary market. The resultsalso provide support for the hypothesis that there are noneconomic barriers that prevent women from emering rhc primary market.In addition, the noneconomic barriers faced bv women have beenshown to be lessened in 1992 as compared to 1978. which is consistent with the fact that the proportion of female workers in whitecollar occupations has been steadily increased m Ts.:wan since 1978. |
