英文摘要 | A closed form solution of spring constant in the buckling of double- coated optical fibers is derived. The effects of polymeric coatings on the spring constant are considered. A higher value of spring constant corresponds to a higher reistence to the buckling of fibers. We can obtain a higher value of spring constant by the suitable selection of polymeric coatings and their thicknesses. In order to get a higher avlue of spring constant, the Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of the primry coating should be increased, but the thickness of the primary coating should be decreased. On the other hand, the Young's modulus, Poissons' ratio and thickness of the secondary coating have less effect on the spring constant. The effects of polymeric coatings on the spring constant are compared to those on the lateral pressure induced microbending loss. |
