英文摘要 | With oustanding features of good color rendering, high lighting efficiency, stableluminance, and long life time, metal halide lamps gradually become one of the mostpopular lighting sources in our modern life. Conventionally, a high reactance inductoris used to ballast the lamp. Due to its low efficiency, huge weight and size, this electromagnetic type ballast is not proper to use in some area of application, such as office,hospital, factory applications, etc. This paper presents circuit designs of metal halidelamp electronic ballasts operating at high frequency (20-25kHz) which excludes theacoustic resonance frequency ranges. Special requirements ware discussed withrespect to the matching considerations between the electronic ballast and the lampload. Finally, expermental comparison for metal halide lamps started by two types ofballast circuits namely, conventional and electronic ballast is illustrated. |
