英文摘要 | Expatriation, or the forign deployment of employees working in nultinational organizations, has, and will remain, an important part of an organization's global strategy. Much recent literature had focused on the high costs (both human and organization) resulting form expatriate failure, which ranges from 16% to 70%, and the difficulty with which epatriates adapt to the context of the host culture. However, upon closer scrutiny, it can be noticed that although female expatriates account for only 5% of all expatriates, these women are oaverwhcimfngly successful. As part of the author's on-going reseurch, both secondary and in the field, this paper examines the factors which may contribute to the femate expatriate manger's success, including: sclection and mentoring as well as self-efficacy, the degree of cooperation given by the host country female support staff, and finally, the differences in the ways women and men lead. |
