中文摘要 | 二十一世紀全球經濟的發展,已經從過去以物質資源為基礎轉型為以知識為基礎。人類的生活與工作方式以及價值思維,都面臨重大的變革。社會的發展,強調由創新而產生的價值。大學的屬性原本即為知識產業───以研究創造知識的製造業暨以教學傳播知識的流通業;在新經濟體系內將扮演主導性的角色。培養科技專業人才的高等教育,除了傳統專門知識的研發和傳授之外,尤其應重視對未來科技菁英的價值觀、責任感以及創造力的孕育。本文從大學與產業、大學與社區、大學與大學、大學與網路等向度探討知識經濟時代高等教育的新典範。 |
英文摘要 | As we move into the age of knowledge-based economies, the representation of the concept of the university faces many new challenges. The central function of a university reflects its responsibility toward the creation and distribution of knowledge. But at the same time it must not neglect its responsibility to develop Good Citizenship. This paper discusses the shifting paradigms of the university in various aspects: elite education vs. mass education, professional education vs. general education, instruction centered vs. learning centered, teaching vs. research, and globalization vs. localization. It is vital for a university to develop healthy interaction with industry, the community, the Internet and other universities in order to maintain its place in the mainstream of the knowledge industry in the twenty-first century. |
