中文摘要 | 在本文中,我們所進行的研究主題是一個以最小平方誤差為基礎的影像分割編碼 方法,這是一個極有發展潛力的高壓縮比編碼技術。在本研究中,我們結合了影像分割技術 及資料最小平方近似法,先將整張影像分割成數個有意義而不同特性的區域,再對各區域的 元素進行最小平方誤差近似。相對於餘弦轉換編碼的固定大小區塊壓縮,此一不定大小區域 之物件導向分割影像編碼將顯得更有效率。進一步,我們更加入了人類視覺模型及不連續邊 濾波器以改善我們的影像分割法則及消除不連續邊。由最後的模擬結果顯示,我們所提出的 改善架構在峰值雜訊比方面較舊有的架構改善超過 1dB 以上, 在視覺效果上亦有明顯的改 善。值得一提的是,由於誤差多處於人眼不易察覺的區域邊緣,或許結果的訊號雜訊比並不 甚佳,但在視覺上卻有超越其之表現。 |
英文摘要 | In this paper, our research focuses mainly on the segmented image coding scheme based on least square error approximation. This is a highly potential image compression coding technique with high compression ratio. In our work, the original images are segmented into different regions according to pixels' homogeniuty or characteristic first. Then pixels of regions are fitted by the least square error approximation method. With respect to the fixed size treatment of transform coding schemes, this segmented image coding scheme with variable region size treatment will be more efficient. Furthermore, we incorporate the human visual model and apply the discontinuous edge filter to our work to improve our segmentation criterion and to eliminate the abrupt edges between regions. The simulation results show our scheme is better than the conventional scheme. It is above 1dB higher in PSNR value. The improvement in visual response is also apparent. The error in our segmented image coding scheme is located mostly in the boundaries of regions where are less sensitive to human eyes, perhaps the PSNR value of the reconstructed image is not so good, but it will be looked better than othe techniques under in the same PSNR value. |
