中文摘要 | 孔尚任劇作《桃花扇》為明、清傳奇之翹楚,早為論者所認定。其內容思想之卓越與戲劇結構之美妙,故無庸贅言,即以《桃花扇》三字之命名,亦非信筆得之,原有它傳統沿襲套用的思想蹊徑,這樣的命名,非但有助于作者呈現個人的寫作意圖,更讓讀者在閱讀中引發豐富的聯想,達到意想不到的高妙效果。 本文自「桃花扇」三字的原始淵源--晏幾道鷓鴣天詞「舞低楊柳樓心月,歌盡桃花扇底風」--談起,歸納元曲中「桃花扇」三字多用於指陳仙女或妓女,至明末文學作品中則一律用於形容妓女,再由中國傳統文人眼中的桃花象徵意義,如春色、美女、輕薄鄙賤、肉慾、理想與希望及超越自我……等,論《桃花扇》劇作中扇上桃花的豐富意涵,以直探作者命名之初衷,並挖掘《桃花扇》意在言外的深刻主旨。 |
英文摘要 | The opera "Peach-blossom Fan" written by Kung Shang Jen is the best work in Ming and Ching dynasties and has been willingly consented by critics. Its rich thought and fair structure are needlessly to say any more; even the name of this opera is not got at will. It has its own way of routine thought. Such method to name an opera, not only clearly presents the writer's desire, but also causes an opulent idea for readers and has an unexpected effect. This essay, firstly, discusses from the source of the Peach-Blossom-Fan with a classical ballad-metre, "CHE-KU-TINE" written by Yen Chi-Tao, which puts: "Dancing until the moon over the poplar and willow beside the building descended; singing thoroughly all the styles under the peach-blossom-fan stopped."; and then, induces the words of Peach-blossom which in the song of Yuan dynasty usually indicated fairy of prostitute; as to the literature in the last period of Ming dynasty, the words of Peach-blossom were entirely used to modify the prostitute; at last, discusses the rich meaning of peach-blossom in the opera "Peach-Blossom-Fan", from the viewpoint of Chinese literators to see the peach-blossom as an obscene colour, a beauty, a levity, a worthlessness, a sexual appetite, an ideal, a hope and self-exceed… etc. for studying the writer's original intention and digging out the key point none evidently stated in this opera. |
