| 英文摘要 | From 322.3 to 324.4 m in the geological drilling well of Wuku (WK-l, or offically called CGS-81-5A) in the Taipei Basin, there is a layer of tuffaceous sediment containing abundant andesitic fragments and volcanogenic minerals in the Hsinchung Formation. The former consists of various kinds of andesite blocks and lapillis, while the latter consists of plagioclase, hornblende, hypersthene, augite, magnetite and biotite in addition to some volcanic glasses, indicative of fall deposits of volcanic ashes. Based on the relative proportion of the mafic minerals in the sand portion with grain size ranging from 80 to120 mesh, it is suggested that the assemblage is best correlatable with the lava flows of Meintienshan two-pyroxene bearing hornblende andesite in the Tatun Volcano Group. According to the apatite fission track data, the age of the Meintienshan eruption is 0.41±0.06 Ma (Wang and Chen, 1990). The step-heating □Ar/□Ar experiment of the hornblende collected in this tuff layer is dated at 0.39±0.06 Ma, conforming very well with the proposition. Along with other dating data in the upper layers of these tuffaceous sediments, the present results can clearly constrain the deposition time of the lower part of the Hsinchung Formation of the Taipei Basin in the northwest corner. |
