| 英文摘要 | Disk arrays, which were proposed in the 1980s, apply parallelism on multiple disks to improve I/O performance. To achieve high I/O rates, disk arrays group multiple disk drives into a large logical disk, stripe data over these disk drives and access them in parallel. The data organization of disk arrays are defined by their data distribution schemes and redundancy mechanisms. The various combinations of these two components will make disk arrays have different sets of performance, cost and reliability. The performance and reliability are the two major reasons that make the disk arrays so popular. Today they have become the commercial product, especially for the database systems and file servers. This report gives a comprehensive overview of disk arrays and the features of the current products of disk array technology will be applied in tie design of fault tolerant common controller of broadband switch systems. |
