中文摘要 | 本研究報告旨在探討大學生參與服務性社團與通識教育間之關係。 在研究方法方面,以問卷作為研究工具。研究樣本來源,以臺灣全省14所四年制學院及大學之服務性社團成員600名為對象,收回有效樣本問卷498份。回收之問卷經過整理,資料經過SPSS電腦程式統計分析,獲得學生參與服務性社團與通識教育目標指標間之關係是「顯著重要」的正向結論。 本研究報告之主要發現有: (1)參與服務性社團之女生比男生多;(2)大二學生參與服務性社團最為投入,其次是大三學生,再其次分別是大一及大四學生;(3)大學生參與服務性社團之時間平均為一年六個月之久;(4)大學服務性社團之成員大部份都曾參加過其他社團,亦參加過社團幹部訓練營,且實際參加過校內外之服務性工作;(5)數回答問卷者表示服務性社團之參與在自我認同、人際關係、知識的整合以及問題解決能力等方面,均對自己產生若干程度正面之影響,這一點正好可佐證服務性社團之參與,可輔助通識教育目標達成之論點。 本研究報告之主要建議包括:(1)通識教育未受到應有的重視,各大學院校除應改進教學法、更新教材、教具與設備、落實教學評量外,更應積極鼓勵學生參與社團,尤其是參與服務性社團之活動,期與通識教育之目標相輔相成。(2)由於大學服務性社團成員實際參與學校及社會自願性之服務工作,而且多數工作性質亦具專業性質,學校在經費上及專業指導方面應給予更多實際的資助與輔導。 |
英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to provide data and an analysis of the relation between college student service-club involvement and the goal and purpose of general education. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The sample included 600 students who were members of service-clubs in the selected fourteen four-year colleges and universities in Taiwan, R.O.C., among which 498 responded. The responses to each question were analyzed or tallied and the percentage of the responses was computed. The SPSS program was used for factor analysis. The data showed that the correlation indicators of student service-club participation and general education were at a "significant" level. The major findings of the study were: (1) More female than male students joined service-clubs. (2) Sophomores got involved in service-club activities the most, followed by juniors and then freshmen and seniors. (3) The average length of time students participated in service-club was eighteen months. (4) The majority of the members of the service-clubs were previous members of other student clubs, had attended staff member training camp, and had joined service work on-campus and off-campus. (5) The majority of the respondents were positive about the effect of their service-club participation in terms of self-cognition, inter-personal relations, integration of knowledge and problem-solving ability, which were correlated to the goal and purpose of general education. The major recommendations of this study were: (1) General education as a part of formal curriculum in colleges and universities had not been treated as important as it should be. More efforts should be made to improve teaching methods, teaching aids and facilities, and evaluation of teaching results. In the meantime, students should be further encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities, especially in service-club activities, as they proved to be useful and practical supplements to fulfill the goal and purpose of general education. (2) More support, both financial and supervisory, should be given to the student service-clubs as they were actually involved in various kinds of voluntary service in the society, and the services they rendered were, in most cases, of a professional nature. |
