英文摘要 | In traditional analysis about the heat-radiation transported in an enclosure containing materials, we always assumed that it is in steady state and neglected the influence of time. With the advent of short pulse lasers, the traditional analysis cannot be used to analyze the interaction in participating (absorbing/scattering) medium. To analyze the characteristics of radiation transmitted through and reflected from a rectangular participating medium, a Monte Carlo simulation model has been developed to trace the path of the incident photon bundles in an isotropic medium. And, in participating medium, the attenuation of radiation intensity mainly results from the absorption of the medium. In this paper, the simulation model has been used to predict the transient distribution of transmittance and reflectance in participating media in three cases (i) different widths with the same depth, (ii) different albedo with the same extinction coefficients, (iii) different incident source width. This study also considered the important effect of the boundary reflection and refraction at the interface between the medium and air because of the difference in the refractive indexes. |
