英文摘要 | The effect of composition on the thermotropic liquid crystalline behavior of four series of copolyesters based on p-hydroxbenzoic acid(HBA) was studied to interpret the relationships between the sequence length of rigid moieties and liquid crystalline properties. Three series of random copolyesters exhibit a nematic phase when the average sequence length of rigid moieties is 1.67 or higher. As the HBA content increases, the average sequence length of rigid moieties increases, and the liquid cryst alline order increases accordingly. The chemical structure of the copolyesters also affect the liquid crystalline behavior. The copolyesters with a more blocky structure exhbit liquid crystalline behavior at a lower HBA content than the copolyesters with a random structure. |
