| 英文摘要 | A prevailing theory commonly accepted by the world library circles is the IFLA theories addressed in Lyon in 1975, which features four social functions of library. However, which as its backdrop the developmental history of library since Middle Ages and the status quo of libraries in developed countries, the theory overlooks the particularities of developing countries. Developing countries, with economic growth as their central target, need technological and economic information more than anyone else, thus constituting the special tasks of library in addition to the four functions raised by IFLA. Countries in Asia and Pacific Areas have made remarkable achievement in this respect, though they need yet to have a thorough understanding of the relationships between the two theories and avoid going to extremes. |
