中文摘要 | 螞蟻是很好的生物實驗材料,因為牠具有其易於採到、乾淨、行為表現一致,不受人為環境的影響等特性。本研究的主要目的在設計一系列,以螞蟻為實驗材料,適合國小學生實作的自然實驗。實驗設計過程嚴謹,經文獻探討、飼養螞蟻、設計螞蟻實驗、經動物生態、行為專家以及科學教育專家審核、實作、修正、而審核後定稿。研究結果包括六個螞蟻習性與行為的實驗設計:螞蟻喜歡什麼食物;螞蟻喜歡什麼環境-亮或暗;乾或濕;螞蟻喜歡什麼溫度-熱、溫、冷;螞蟻路徑;螞蟻角色;和螞蟻戰爭。每個實驗設計內容包括:1.簡介、目的、2.實驗材料、3.實驗建議、4.實驗過程、5.參考結果、6.討論。研究者實作結果顯示,除螞蟻角色因需時較久且不易觀察外,其他五個實驗都頗適合小學生實作,並且能與發展中國小自然科學課程的多個生物單元配合。研究結果可供課程設計者、國小職前與在職教師,設計自然科學教學單元之參考。 |
英文摘要 | Ants are convenient subjects for experimentation both in school and at home, since they are clean and can be collected easily. For beginning studies of animal behavior, a relatively simple organism is essential. Ants are almost unaffected by the artificial conditions of the classroom, and the exhibit reasonably consistent and definite behavior. For elementary students, the behavior of ants would be an appropriate topic for biology investigations. The main purpose of this study was to design a series of experiments with ants for elementary students. Several methods of keeping ants were introduced first. Then the following experiments were designed and tested: "What kind of food do ants prefer?", "What kind of environment do ants prefer-light, dark,; dry, wet?", "What kind of temperature do ants prefer-hot, warm, or cold?", "Ant trails", "Ant roles" and "Ant fights"". Each experiment would include introduction, materials, recommendations for teachers (age, duration, and group size), procedure, results, and discussion. These experiments stimulated children to ask questions about the observable behavior of ants and then directed them to ways of finding answers of themselves. This report encouraged both inservice and preservice elementary teachers to use ants in the classroom for elementary students to study biology. |
