| 英文摘要 | The current method to reconnect fibers in the event of an optical cable failure is by means of fusion splice. However, this method is inefficient in the case of emergency repair due to the inconvenience of preparing and transporting the costly heavy equipment to the site as well as the need of highly skilled personnel to do the job. As a result, we have evaluated four mechanical splices currently available which are simple to use in the emergency, so as to establish a guideline for the use in the field. Based on the evaluation result, the technicians are able to select an economical optical splice which is easy to implement with good optical performance to handle the emergency case. |
