| 英文摘要 | The present study was conducted to evaluate survival rate and disease infections in the secondary Specific Pathogen Free (SPG) pigs raised on a conventional farm. Sixty-one 8 to 10-week-old crossbred SPF pigs (BW 20-30kg) were supplied by the Pig Research Institute Taiwan. Pigs were immunized twice with hog cholera, erysipelas, pseudorabies, and actinobacillus pleuropneumonia vaccines and sent to the private conventional farm. The pigs reached market weight (100kg) between 180 to 210 days of age (average 195 days) and the surival rate was 93.4%. During the study, some pigs were found coughing badly and infected with scabies. Slaughter check on internal organs showed gross lesions of pneumonia and ascarial plaques in most pigs with some of them had pericarditis. The prevalence of pseudorabis was 100% by serological testing. The results proved that the secondary SPF pigs can be raised on conventional farms after adequate immunization. Although SPF pigs were infected with on-farm infectious agents, most of them survived and the growth performance was moderately decreased. |
