| 英文摘要 | Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the feeding value of pangola hay and haylage for milking cows. In experiment 1, 8 Holstein bulls weighing about 400kg/bull were used to measure the affect of preservation method (hay vs. halylage) on digestibility. Results showed that ether extrat digestibility was significantly lower for hay than haylage. Dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, and nitrogen-free extract (NFE)digestibility were not affected by method of preservation. Both hay and haylage tended to have low total digestible nutrients (TDN), likely due to forage being overmature. There was no significant difference in rumen p of cows fed with hay or haylage. The pH was always maintained above 6.5. In experiment 2, 16 Holstein cows were divided into two blocks according to their milk production. In each block, 8 cows were allotted randomly to either a hay or haylage group. Treatments were lasted for 12 weeks. Cows fed with hay or haylage had similar dry matter intake (16.8 vs. 17.2 kg/d/cow), milk production (20.9 vs. 21.1 kg/d/cow), and body weight change (+0.26 vs. +0.38kg/d/ciw). Milk fat, protein, lactose, and total slid contents were 3.48, 2.86, 4.39, and 11.48% for cows fed with hay, and 3.43, 2.78, 4.24 and 11.21% for cows fed with haylage, respectively. There were no significant differences between two groups. Method of preservation also had little effect on feed cost (111.29 vs. 11.639 NT$/d/cow) or income (292.11 vs. 286.81 NT$/d/cow). Overall, data suggest that Pangola A254 grass/preserved as hay or haylage has similar feeding values and productive economy. |
