英文摘要 | The main factor that distinguishes human beings from animals is the knowledge and ability to use language, may it be in the oral or/and written form and for any purpose. Other than the conveyance of information, people communicate in order to find common ground, to establish relations, to convince others, and to persuade listeners. However, those functions never receive their deserved recognition in the research field. It is intended, through this article, that we will be able to introduce some basic rationales related to the persuasive speech and approaches that are commonly used in speeches. We start the discussion by explaining variables that are involved in the persuasive speech process which are divided into two categories: dependent and independent variables. Then, the discussion proceeds to explain the interactions between these two. After we have established the relationship between dependent and independent variables, we will try to explain some common approaches with proper examples employed in persuasive speech. |
