中文摘要 | 相較於美國、澳洲及英國等英語系國家,一九八○年代中期以來,臺灣各家報社陸續引進的編採自動化過程,可以說是相當平順,引發的衝突最少,原因是什麼?是不是我國報業結構受到自動化的衝擊程度,(遠)低於這些國家?而這樣的情況又具有什麼意義?學術界是不是可以從中汲取一些什麼經驗,啟發教學及研究的方向?為了要探討這些問題,這篇論文將先簡短釐清報業自動化的三種內涵,由此引出判準,作為評估後續文字的依據;其次,本文轉入主題,敘述前舉英語系國家及臺灣報業自動化的歷程、自動化的社會文化意義,重點之一放在勞資之間以及不同勞方之間的關係之探討;最後,筆者嚐試由前面的討論,反省大眾傳播學術界,可能應該優先作些什麼樣的回應。 |
英文摘要 | Taiwan's press industry has, since the mid-1980s, introduced computer facilities into its production process with only some minor corresponding conflicts, which, in contrast, had once erupted newspaper industries in the States, Australia and the UK. With a view to arguing that new communication technology has consolidated powers of the media conglomerate, this article sets out to analyse how the capitals' gain is at the labour's loss, and why clashes between different sectors of the press workers had contributed to a more efficient control of capital over labour as a whole. As a communication educator, the author then ponders on the preceding discussions: what priorities of work should and can the academic set for themselves facing a media world that is increasingly capitalized. |
