英文摘要 | Effects of initial condition on the unsteady thermosolutal convection with opposed buoyancy forces were numerically investigated in a liquid water mixture contained in a rectangular cavity subject to horizontal temperature and concentration gradients. A third-order upwind finite difference scheme was employed for predicting the transient complex fluid flow and the associated heat and mass transfer. Three different initial conditions were examined according to the order of imposing the thermal and solutal gradients. Results were specifically presented for the case with Pr=7, Le=400, Gr �� =10 ��,N=-2, A=0.5 and �t =50. Flow and heat and mass transfer characteristics resulting from simultaneous imposition of △ T and △ w �� were significantly different from those which resulted from firstimposing △ w �� for a sufficiently long period of time and then imposing △ T. Substantial discrepancy in the flow formation and time development of temperature and concentration fields along with the time histories of U, V, T and W were clearly manifested with the power spectra and phase diagrams. Secondary cell flow regime was interesting by noted after the initial transient when △ T and △ w �� were simultaneously added; adding △ w �� first and then △ T at a much later time would result in an alternate flow pattern between secondary cell and mixed flow structures. |
